Frequently Asked Questions for the Maui Fair Photo Salon

  1. RULES, SCHEDULE, DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP:
    • Who should I contact regarding the Rules and Schedule, Waiver, or other general questions? Send an email to mauifairphotosalon@gmail.com or leave a message for Dave Schoonover at 281-2654.
    • Who should I contact regarding the paper registration, Waiver and label forms? Send an email to mauifairphotosalon@gmail.com or leave a message for Dave Schoonover at 281-2654.
  2. ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM:
    • What information should I have before submitting the online form? Finalize the titles for all of your photos. When you submit the form, the titles will be written onto the auto-generated labels exactly how you spelled it in the online form. You should not write on the labels or alter it in any way. You will also need your credit card number, expiration date and CSC code when paying by credit card. When paying with a PayPal account, you will need your PayPal login account and password.
    • Who should I contact regarding general questions about the online form or online payment? Send an email to mauifairphotosalon@mauicameraclub.com.
    • Who should I contact regarding problems with a registration that I previously submitted online? Send an email with your full name and a detailed question to mauifairphotosalon@mauicameraclub.com.
  3. ONLINE PAYMENT:
    • How do I pay with a credit card?
      • At the bottom of the online form, for Payment Type select “Submit now and pay with a Credit Card or PayPal Account “.
      • After clicking the Submit button, please wait while you are transferred to paypal.com. Do not close your browser tab or window, otherwise your payment will fail to complete. A lock symbol inside a spinning circle indicates a secure online payment transaction is beng processed. (See a sample of the lock symbol)
      • At the PayPal website, if you are not at the credit card page, first click on the button that says “Pay with Debit or Credit Card“.
      • Enter your credit card information, including the expiration date and CSC code. (See a sample of the credit card page)
      • After processing your payment, you will be returned to a page on the mauicameraclub.com website with a confirmation message “Your Entry was Submitted“. (Click here for a sample of the confirmation page). When you see this message, read the information on the page, then close the browser window.
      • Important note: If you click the Submit button and then cancel an online payment before reaching the web confirmation page, your submission will remain in a Pending state and you will not receive an email with your labels. If this happens, send an email with your full name and a detailed question to mauifairphotosalon@mauicameraclub.com for further instructions.
    • How do I make an online payment with my existing PayPal account?
      • At the bottom of the online form, for Payment Type select “Submit now and pay with a Credit Card or PayPal Account “.

    • How do I know when my online payment was complete? When your payment is complete, you will be returned to a page on the mauicameraclub.com website with a message “Your Entry was Submitted“. You will receive an email with your online payment confirmation number.
  4. EMAILS:
    • What should I do if I submitted the online form, but did not receive an email? Send your full name and a description of the problem to mauifairphotosalon@mauicameraclub.com.
    • Who should I contact if I donʻt have access to the email address I entered into the online form? Do not submit the online form a second time. Send your full name and a description of the problem to mauifairphotosalon@mauicameraclub.com. Be prepared to answer questions regarding your entry in order to verify you are the same person who submitted the form.
  5. LABELS:
    • What should the auto-generated labels sent to me look like when properly printed? When properly printed, there should be two labels per letter-sized page. (Click here for a sample of properly formatted labels)
    • How do I print the auto-generated labels to properly format with two labels per page? When printing from Gmail (and most web-based email applications), use the small printer icon to print your labels. In most cases, printing with the browser’s File > Print menu option, or Control+P or Command+P shortcuts will print extraneous content, such as the list of email folders.   6. WAIVERS:
    • If my teacher is coordinating entries with the Maui Camera Club, how do I submit a waiver? Teachers managing their studentsʻ entries will distribute paper waivers for you to have signed by your parent or legal guardian. Please see your teacher for further instructions.
    • If I am not coordinating entries with my teacher, how do I submit a waiver? When registering online, have your parent or legal guardian enter their name into the Waiver text box located near the bottom of the online form. When registering with a paper form, have your parent or legal guardian complete and sign the paper Waiver form.
  7. WRAPPING PRINTS:
    • Do I need to package my prints for dropoff? This year, it is no longer necessary to package your prints as in previous years. This is because labels on the back of each print replaces the need to attach a paper form on the outside of each package. However, you may wrap your prints in paper or plastic for added protection.
