April’s challenge takes us out of our homes and into our neighborhood. You’re on the hunt for signs with interesting text and styles. Take photos of letters on signs and typefaces that catch your eye. Although this concept has been used by designers for years, it’s an evolving trend in the current times. Typography on urban signs and walls in your town tell a story. Perhaps it is layered with history and culture or has identity persuasions and pure creativity. Look for contrast and personality. Notice the textures and context. Is there a theme you’re attracted to? Tell the story through your captured images. Click here for a more in-depth explanation by the camera club. Pictures should have been taken within the last six months. At our Club meeting, we'll open the floor for the other members to comment on the images, with ideas to improve if you're open to that. It's intended to be a learning exercise. Members may also simply share their photos at our club meeting and opt out of hearing suggestions for improvement.
First and foremost, we value your participation!
